Session 4: Mobile Doctors

Today we will be talking about Acurata's Mobile Doctors module. Mobile Doctors provides scheduling, and the ability to create, manage, and sign orders from the field. Our aim is to simplify the work of the scheduling staff and the doctors assigned to their facilities.

Dr. Felix is a mobile primary care physician for a hospice and home health system in Florida which serves a large retirement community called Elm City. Dr. Felix is scheduled to be at Elm City on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9am and 3pm, and Elm City has an on-site nurse that schedules appointments for the residents that need to see Dr. Felix. Right now, this nurse may schedule those appointments any number of ways, ranging from phone calls, email, or in-person. This creates difficulty in tracking and collecting data on which Elm City resident Dr. Felix saw and what she did while she was with that resident. If this information was even able to be documented anywhere, it is most likely in different systems, leading to inaccuracies or omissions in the history of patient care.

In the left image, you can see Dr. Felix's main screen. In the right image, Dr. Felix can see all her appointments that have been assigned to her by the nurse at Elm City. Tapping any of these Appointment Cards will open the Appointment Detail window, giving Dr. Felix more options and information. The red plus sign at the bottom right of the screen will let Dr. Felix create a new order for prescriptions, lab tests, or other medical orders.

Just as in Acurata's other modules, the Appointment Detail window shows Dr. Felix more information about the patient and appointment. She can also receive navigation, call the patient or facility directly, or initiate a video call with the patient through APEx. Dr. Felix can also create and review notes.

In the right image, Dr. Felix has created a new order for Mr. Smith. Dr. Felix can sign for this order and a copy will be sent to the appropriate parties to be filled and for recording purposes, should it be for prescriptions or other medical requests.

Just as with all of Acurata’s other modules, the Mobile Doctors module aims to simplify and streamline these processes and keep them in one ecosystem. Being able to schedule and assign visits for Doctors, and then allowing the doctors to keep notes, approve prescriptions, lab tests, or any other orders all within the Acurata ecosystem, creates effortless tracking of patient care, and one place to analyze all data from much further upstream than without Acurata.
